After a delay worthy of most DE&S acquisitions, I bring you the final results for the Combined Services Racing Downhill Series 2011. The final points table is below, with the results for individual rounds given further down the post. The usual rules apply - if I've cocked up any of the results, let me know and I will amend them.
Congratulations - again! - to Ben Deakin, your CSR DH Champion 2011. Despite a good showing from both the Army and RAF, Ben has once again been the rider to catch this season. As if being quick enough to compete in the Expert category wasn't good enough, an 8th place finish in the first BDS (National) round shows how quick he really is. Fortunately for the rest of us mere mortals, he's off to become a civvy and give the rest a chance!
Honorable mentions also to:
Matt Forster, for finally stopping just jumping off crazy stuff and taking up racing,
earning 2nd place CSR and 1st Army rider in the process!
Ian Churchill, for finishing 3rd CSR and 1st RAF in his first full season representing the service.
And last but not least, Baz Fenton for all the hard work he put in organising the RAF DH Champs at Aston Hill (and Pete Way - our "man on the inside!"), despite a det preventing him taking part.

Now that all the dust (and mud) has settled, I'm now open to suggestions for races / series that should be included in the CSRs next year. The Pearce and SDA series have been well supported this year, so I think they should remain as the backbone of the CSRs, and I am planning to add the Aston Hill Black Run race as an early season opener. Is anyone out there intending to race the BDS next season? If not I will remove these from the CSRs to make way for other races. I've now escaped the mayhem of being a JEngO, so will now be back to full productivity as DH Sec. Let me know what you want and I'll try to make it happen!
It's been good to see some more inter-service rivalry this season, although the Navy really need to join the party rather than messing about in boats! With the absence of Mr Deakin next season, the title is obviously up for grabs, so as I expect the Army will be giving it their best shot I'll welcome any thoughts from the RAF contingent on how we're going to stop them?!
